Beauty Corner: February Round Up

The beginning of a new month can only mean one thing here at Take on the Road…it’s time for another Beauty Corner round up, and boy do I have some treats for you this month!

Honey and Orange Face Wash – £4.95 from JooMo here

Our first featured product this month is from the wonderful independent brand JooMo. I can’t get enough of their honey and orange face wash, and it smells so good I feel as if I may want to eat it a little bit too often. Anyway, moving swiftly on…they do a boy version and a girl version, and the wash is designed directly to battle against spots and inflammation. Ethical and independent, JooMo use 100% natural ingredients in their products, and if that’s not enough, 50p from every sale goes towards educating a child in Africa. Who can argue with that? This is easily the best smelling and generally loveliest face wash I’ve ever used.

Moroccan Argan

Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Products – £4.95 to £7.95 from Salon Chic Professional here

Next up is Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner – another delicious smelling product. Moroccan Argan Oil is all the rage in the world of beauty at the moment, and as well as being natural and lovely, it’s also got a great story behind it. Expensive and highly sought after, it’s known as ‘miracle oil’ for its seemingly endless beauty benefits. It takes a whole week to get just one litre of oil from an Argan tree, and in Morocco, Berber tribespeople have grafted away at harvesting it because of its benefits, particularly for protecting the skin and hair from drying out in desert climes. I’d certainly know about that last point – it did wonders for me during my trip to Tunisia in November!

Manuka Honey Hand and Nail Cream – £5.99 from Nuage here

A good hand cream is every girl’s best friend, especially in the cold and the wind. My hands are staying soft and fresh at the moment thanks to this super lovely hand and nail cream made from Manuka Honey, which is only produced in New Zealand. Bees collect nectar from the flowers of the wild Manuka bushes which are native to New Zealand, with beekeepers positioning hives close to wild, uncultivated areas of the countryside to encourage its production. I do love a product with a story behind it.

Hair Removal Duo – £11.99 to £14.99 from Sabi here

And finally, as we see hints of sunshine hitting the sky (followed by wind and rain, of course), you might be remembering you’ll have to do something about that ridiculously attractive stubble on your legs when the tights are put away and exchanged for floaty skirts and maxi dresses. There only seem to be a few well known brands in this area, but I’m loving this set from Sabi. It’s a hair removal cream and a hair growth delayer cream. Quick, painless and even smells quite nice compared to similar products I’ve tried. Springtime hair cleanse sorted!
