White Paint Magazine, Killer Colours & Listerine
It’s been an insanely busy week with a variety of uni essays to finish and submit, and lots of music and writing work to do! I like keeping busy, but I think this weekend calls for a bit of a breather…
Before I head out for some Friday night antics, I’m sharing with you three things that I’ve been loving this week – an artsy magazine, a fabulous independent nail varnish brand and the best mouthwash in the world. Read on…
WHITE PAINT MAGAZINE:
White Paint Magazine is a Norwich-based, top-notch arts magazine, brought to you by a bunch of awesome UEA students. Each issue has a theme that writers have to link their pieces into, and all the writing that makes the final cut is high quality and genuinely distinctive. The last issue was the ‘technology’ issue and included a fantastic ‘day in the life of an iPhone’ feature. White Paint also run really cool launch nights at cooler-than-cool pub The Birdcage for each new edition of the magazine. Click here to read a selection of articles from issues past. You can also buy back issues for just £1 on the website here. To hear about the next launch party and issue of the mag, connect on Facebook.
Killer Colours is a brand new independent nail varnish company, and its colours are just delicious. The company is a two-woman start up and they seem to be doing incredibly well so far. They’re even endorsed by the gorgeous Millie Mackintosh of Made In Chelsea fame. I am the proud purveyor of the Belladonna, Gunmetal and Firewater shades, and haven’t stopped wearing them since they arrived in the post. Gunmetal was the perfect accompaniment to my vampiric Halloween get up – more on that soon. Get your bottom over to their site and order yourself a bottle of the colourful stuff – it’ll only set you back £9 and you’ll be a nail trendsetter (is that a thing?) amongst friends and family.
My final recommendation for this week is Listerine mouth wash. I just couldn’t live without this stuff. It’ll make your mouth tingle with freshness, and it’s a big enough brand that you’ll find it in your local supermarket or pharmacy – maybe even your local corner shop. During such a busy week, I’ve been using my bottle morning and night, and it’s kept me feeling super-fresh during moments of both stress and joy. Going out? You want that extra ‘zing’ on your pallette. Eaten something yummy containing too much garlic? Don’t make your friends suffer from your (totally justified) indulgence. Get yourself some Listerine.
A little post about what I did with my Halloween will follow soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Off to Cambridge to have dinner with the amazing Hot Feet shortly and then watch them play at CB2 on Norfolk Street. Laaaavely!
