I’m a complete sucker for getting inspired by films and their locations. It was actually seeing a Julie Delpy movie when I was pretty young that made me first realise this. Oh yes, the gorgeous and unforgettable experience that was the 1995 independent hit Before Sunrise. I might say it served as one of my first inspirations to travel too – and look how that turned out (twelve trips in twelve months whilst still at university anyone?).
With that in mind then, I was very eager indeed to get my hands on a copy of Julie Delpy’s latest movie, 2 Days in New York. I’d seen and enjoyed the first instalment of this particular Delpy tale, 2 Days in Paris (Helen, if you’re reading, I definitely still have your DVD at my parents’ house), and was pretty sure its follow up would be just as entertaining, creative and really quite mad. Not only does it star the French beauty, but she wrote and directed it too. Julie Delpy is such a phenomenal talent and this film is genuinely excellent and genuinely funny. Grab yourself a delicious treat and settle down for a viewing session ASAP.
